Printing the ReCreate project for the Hereford Photography Festival tomorrow, here’s a preview…

ReCreate, commissioned by Hereford Photography Festival in association with Halo Leisure, celebrates the Olympian ideal in all sports people. Inspired by ancient Greek sculptures and the London Olympics, photographers Kate Owens and Becky Matthews have created portraits of Halo customers in the pose of their favorite God or Goddess.

HPF showcases 35 exhibitions and 21 events over 5 cites for 2011, with most of the work being shown in Hereford - over 75 artists and documentary photographers, and the HPF Fringe showing the work of 20 early career artists.

Hereford Photography Festival is the longest running annual Photography Festival in the UK it runs from Friday 28th October to Saturday 26th November 2011.
The auction opens online on Monday 26th September and will run until Friday 7th October 2011. Photographs will be on display at HotShoe Gallery, London from Tuesday 4th to Friday 7th October. A final, live event will take place at HotShoe on Friday 7th October, where extra works will be available for sale.
To bid on a photograph simply go to the bid page and complete your details but remember which Lot Number you are bidding on and the name of the Photographer.

London’s Trafalgar Square will be the venue today for a day of sporting demonstrations to celebrate next year’s Paralympic Games.
International Paralympic Day will allow the public to watch sports like blind football, power-lifting, wheelchair basketball and sitting volleyball.
My environmental portraits of each B1 player in the England Football squad for the Hereford Photography Festival are heading to Wembley for London 2012. The intention of the work was to give an understanding of the players lives beyond football and their disability.
the open west is an annual open competition and exhibition inviting work from national and international artists practising contemporary and conceptual art in the fields of painting, installation, film and sound, textile, photography, ceramics, print, drawing, performance and sculpture.
Up to 50 artists will be included in the exhibition, each with the possibility of showing more than one work
Selected artists will show their work throughout the interior, the cloisters, the crypt and the garth of Gloucester Cathedral. The exhibition will be the first of its kind in this site to show work of such diversity of medium and scale
